What?

Momentum Student Ministry exists for the purpose of coming along side parents in order to help students grow as disciples who are...

…grounded in Christ…

1.  Grounded: Being grounded has everything to do with being tapped into the Gospel that has taken root in the heart of the believer through repentance and faith in Jesus.  We want to clarify the gospel so that students may respond to him as Savior for the first time.  We also want to help students grow in their knowledge of God and themselves in order to enhance worship as the greatness of God is revealed.  It is our prayer that every student would see Christ and worship him alone as their greatest treasure.

…growing together in the Word…

2. Growing: We believe that discipleship happens in community as believers explore God's Word together and experience life together.  We want to offer opportunities for believing students to relate around Christ as adopted sons and daughters of God.  We want to offer opportunities for lost students to experience this fellowship that is founded in Christ as believing students interact in small community.  We offer this on a larger scale through family small groups called Life Groups that meet in homes once a week, church-wide.  But, we also see the need for this type of interaction to take place among students as they experience similar life-situations each and every week.

…and going for God's glory.

3. Going: God's commission to every believer is to make disciples as life's journey takes place.  We want to train students to be obedient to this commission in two primary ways.  First, we want students to understand their calling to be a missionary within their unique context and circle of influence.  Second, we want them to develop a heart for the nations by focusing on what God is doing to grow his Kingdom and restore for himself a people from every nation, tribe and tongue.  As Acts 1:8 serves as a good model for us, we understand that this begins in Roxboro, but extends to the far reaches of the globe.
