"Motivation for the Passionate Pursuit of Missions"

Priscilla & Aquila as models of Bi-vocational missionaries

1. We must give & go because God desires worshippers of Himself from all nations (Psalm 67; Psalm 22:27; Is. 49:6; Rev. 5:9-10)

  - Our God IS a Missionary God

  - He delights in the truth that all ethnic groups will surround His throne in worship for all eternity

  - Those who love God, loves what God loves - Missions for His glory

2. We must give & go in order to obey the command of our Lord to disciple all nations (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:27; John 20:21; Acts 1:8)

  - The task is not merely that all nations would hear the gospel, but rather that nations be discipled, that obedient followers of Jesus will be trained to reproduce themselves all over the world

3. We must give & go because we possess the exclusive message of redemption & satisfaction (Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:15; John 14:6)

   - In a pluralistic religious society, we alone carry the message of eternal hope and satisfaction

   - We proclaim the exclusive message of redemption by grace through faith in Jesus Christ

4. We must go due to the present & impending judgment upon unbelievers (John 3:15-18; 5:24-30; Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 20:11-15

   - Having the knowledge that those who do not believe on the name of Jesus will spend eternity under God's judgment & knowing that there are millions who have not heard the gospel must compel us to expend all our resources to reach them with the gospel

   - The Apostle Paul serves as an example of one who was truly burdened by his knowledge of the coming judgment upon his "kin people" who did not believe (Rom. 9)

God has called us to be on mission with Him. In our trades, in our businesses, in our homes, in our everyday lives we must be consumed and driven by the mission to reach the nations with the gospel.
