1. There is a clear delineation between those who belong to the beast (Ch 13) and those who belong to the Lamb (Ch 14). The delineation is highlighted in contrasting – distinguishing characteristics. The new song of the redeemed is learned and lived out. How is this concept presented in this passage? How does it help us understand the aim of discipleship? How do we learn and rehearse this song here and now?

 

2. The first angel’s announcement called on all humanity to “fear God”. What is there to fear in the announcements of the angel’s in vv 8-13? 1. How does Revelation 12 help you understand the grand narrative of the Scriptures? How does it change and even deepen your understanding of the birth story of Jesus?
2. What do the descriptors of Satan in Revelation 12:9 tell us about his character and his goals for humanity? How can we learn to rest in our security in Christ and his victory over that enemy, especially in considering these descriptors?
3. Revelation 12: 11 says God’s people overcome and conquer Satan “by the blood of the Lamb” and the word of their testimony”. Verse 17 says we “keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus”. What should this look like in our lives, our relationships, our conversations, etc.? How can believers walk in this victory?
